Abrupt Change (Part 2)
1 Better a poor man whose walk is blameless
than a fool whose lips are perverse.
2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge,
nor to be hasty and miss the way.
3 A man’s own folly ruins his life,
yet his heart rages against the LORD.
Greg about your comment #53, if God thinks like you do, then you are equal. But He is above the heavens and you are below. Yes we can deliberate about what we know and fight for it and that is a worthy value to have. But remember also that there are more great values to have like, humility, fairness, etc. There are also scientific attitudes like open-mindedness, resourcefulness, curiosity, etc.
If you keep yourself locked in a box, then, I do not think that you can be relied on. Maybe you are totally weighed down by the anxieties of life that lead you to just not care at all.
We are not lizards that can grow a body part when the need arises. We are a man. The bible says so. The bible imparts of a process of salvation and even healing. Can it be rushed? Is there a short-cut to the path leading to salvation or even healing? If there is, it is by God’s will, as imparted from the bible.
Jesus said in Luke 21:32-36, I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.
Thank you for your thoughts, though, because the readers are able to dissect how people like you in the neutral side thinks. Eventually, the readers will be able to differentiate how people like you; atheists; other religions; and people like us think!
Together with Bro Eli, I pray to God that we can continue to impart the real example of biblical and logical reasoning.
Actually, if we try to analyze how Greg and other atheists think, you will be able to realize that they just generalize and if you continue to ask them, it will come to a point of inconsistencies and conflicting ideas. One example of their thoughts is, or should I say, stand is:
“I am not saying God exists or doesn’t. All I know for absolute certain is that both sides are religions. One side hell bent on saying God does exist, one side hell bent on denying it. Both side’s present laughable arguments and neither side can be reasoned with. Arguably the Christians are the most unreasonable, arguing like the Flat Earth society.
There is one saving grace though, if the atheists are right they win… nothing. It also wouldn’t matter if anyone believes in God if they are correct. If the Christians are right, the atheists lose out (depending on your view of the afterlife – which is yet another unproveable debate).”
They always start reasoning with the pronoun “I”, followed by their own belief! Would their belief or stand be able to save us? Greg’s stand is not a solution to the main concern of us all, to seek the truth. He is inclined to neutrality and to care-less.
Can’t they distinguish that Bro Eli’s stand are based on the bible? All information are founded and no one can attest it. But thanks be to God for we are able to see the difference of what is biblical reasoning against fools’ reasoning.
Have a reality check readers! When people begin to dissect every information under the sun and disregard the bible, where do you think the information are founded? You are just being deceived as they were even now.
But be aware too that most of the time, the deceivers use the bible. Now, if bible users or not can deceive, what can we do to avoid being deceived? Analyze first who is talking and also from which denomination he belongs to. Because some Christians are just using the title but not living in conformity with the scriptures. Once you are able to find out which group are living by example and are able to give consistent doctrines, then you can call them Christians.
You can also compare each teaching: whether we are comparing about two different Christian groups; or if we are comparing two atheist groups. They can use the verses from the bible but they cannot use it perfectly, there are always loopholes like what Satan say during Jesus Christ’s fasting. But Jesus Christ is able to state the correct scripture.
It is better to first check the doctrine of one Christian group and finds the inconsistencies. It is wrong to generalize that all Christians have the same doctrines. Refer to the bible for as much as consistency is concerned.
Paul said: Hebrew 5:11-14 we have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn. In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
